Northern Wales’ Zip World opened its newest attraction last Friday, allowing visitors to travel underground and jump around on a number of trampoline nets that are nestled in a two-chamber cave. Visitors are brought to Bounce Below via a train that takes them inside the former Blaenau Ffestiniog slate mine, where 100 people can jump on the trampolines at a time.
“The surreal experience of Bounce Below cannot be matched as there’s nothing like it anywhere else on earth,” Sean Taylor, Zip World’s commercial director, told Gizmag. “It’s essentially a ginormous underground playground and an amazing way to experience a subterranean world in a way never before possible. The best thing is you can do it all year round.”
The technicolor trampoline park took more than 4,500 hours to build, incorporating three 60-foot nets that are connected by both walkways and slides. Visitors can jump as high as 80 feet, but are required to wear safety clothing and a helmet on every visit.
