Hilleberg will add the one-person Enan next spring to their Yellow Label series of lightweight three-season tents built for warmer weather and snow-free adventures. The new Enan will showcase the company’s latest proprietary outer tent fabric, Kerlon 600, which is a very lightweight yet very strong triple-coated silicone nylon fabric.

“Our goal was to create a solo three-season tent that was both as light as possible but that also matched our principles of strength,” says Bo Hilleberg, company founder, CEO and head of the product development group. “We are quite happy with the result – the Enan – which weighs a pleasing 1.1 kg/2 lbs 7 oz and yet is remarkably robust.”

Conceived of as a very light, three-season version of the award-winning, best-selling Akto, the Enan shares both the Akto’s single pole design and its iconic shape. It also employs the same 9 mm DAC NSL pole and single-ended full pole sleeve system. But there the similarities end.

The Enan is the first Hilleberg tent featuring the new Kerlon 600 outer tent fabric. Like all members of the Kerlon family, the new 600 is triple coated with 100 percent silicone, and offers impressive strength – 6 kg (13.2 lbs) – at an equally impressive light weight of 26 g/m2 (.77 oz/ yd2). As with the company’s other Yellow Label tents, the Enan’s venting system is built into its construction: its inner tent’s mesh areas and the end panels of the outer tent mesh ends, which are made from a tough, durable mesh, allow and encourage constant air flow. In addition, the outer tent’s mesh end panels include an innovative fabric panel, made from Kerlon 600, which can be rolled down and secured for protection during very windy and rainy conditions, then rolled away and stashed in an integrated pocket.

“During its development, we knew we could make the Enan even lighter,” says Bo Hilleberg, “but the result wouldn’t have the kind of durability and function we were comfortable putting our name on. Any lighter, and it just wouldn’t be a true Hilleberg!”
