    CHAOS/CTR Headwear Announces Official Pro-Winter Sport Team 2011/12 in Snowboard and Freeskiing

    Steamboat Springs, CO, September 27th, 2011 – CHAOS headwear in the US and Canada have elevated three of their top performing athletes to their Chaos PRO-TEAM. This new refinement will allow Chaos to support these athletes with greater capacity for them to reach their athletic landmarks. The NEW PRO Team members this year include, Chloe Banning and Colin Spencer in Snowboard and Penn Lukens in Skier Cross/Freeski.

    Expert Chaos spokesperson Chris Anthony, of Anthony Adventures, will guide the team energy for another successful season – look for Chris’ Quick Tips at TV8 all winter with CTR- Chaos Thermal Regulation. For the last 22 years Anthony has traveled as a member of the Warren Miller Film Team, where he will emcee for over 60 events this year nationwide, with various Live FOX televised tips for the latest in skiing. His resume of expertise includes: writing for several publications, co-authoring a guide-book, screen writing, hosting and television programming, Heli- guide and motivational speaker.     Chloe Banning, is from Steamboat Springs, CO. She a 19 year old professional snowboarder and is entering her second season on the World Cup tour with more determination than ever.  Last season, Banning was the bronze medalists at the Junior World Championships, placed2nd at USASA National Championships, and 4th at the Sprint US Grand Prix. She claimed the Women’s North American Snowboard Cross Championship title for both the 2009-2010 and the 2010-2011 season. Currently, Banning is ranked 5th amongst US Women and 20th in the 2011 Final World Cup Standings.

    This season, Banning plans to compete in World Cup events in the US, Canada, and Europe, as well as Junior World Championships and USASA National Championships.

    Her career goals are to be nominated onto the US Team and compete in the 2014 Winter Olympics.     Colin Spencer, from Golden, Colorado, now living in Breckenridge, has been with Chaos for four seasons. Colin gets stronger every season and even wiser – and the results show. Most recently he was a coach at High Cascade Snowboard Camp on Mt. Hood in Oregon. This season, Colin will be featured in both film and winter publications; look for him in Snowboarder Magazine, Snowboard Magazine, Frequency and Snowboard Colorado.  His films include:  “Role Model Films,” “Cockfight,” “SixEleven productions, “It’s Our Fault,” as well as for “YES”.  Sponsors are: Billabong, YES Snowboards, Keystone and Jammy pack.     Penn Lukens

    is from Steamboat Springs, Colo. and is the current Nor-Am URTUR Halfpipe Grand Prix National Champion. That win of the whole tour last season earned the 16-year-old freerider an invitation to the World Cup Finals in Men’s Halfpipe in La Plagne, France. Penn grabbed his coach and they booked it to Europe, where Penn finished 29th in the first World Cup competition and then 10th in the final World Cup Championships this past season. Penn also represented the United States at the Junior World Championships in New Zealand where he finished 19th in SkiCross, after claiming the 2010 USASA title of SkiCross National Champion.

    Penn competes across the country and now internationally primarily in Freeride, with some SkiCross thrown in on occasion, representing the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club. He is 6’3” and now a junior at Steamboat Springs High School, where he also plays Varsity Football and Lacrosse.  Penn plans to keep rockin’ it on URTUR and the Revolution Tour, with hopes of qualifying for more World Cups this winter. The year after he graduates from high school, he’s hoping he’ll make a visit to Sochi, Russia, to represent the United States in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games.     Last season’s results included a 1st place, two 2nd place, two 3rd place and one 4th place finish in Skiercross in the Rocky Mountain Series of USASA. He had 6th, 9th and 13th place finishes in Slopestyle. At USASA National Championships at Copper Mountain in April 2011, Logan finished 7th in Skiercross in a field of 45. This season Logan plans to add Halfpipe and Big Mountain competitions to his schedule.  Logan is also on the Steamboat Springs High School soccer and lacrosse teams.
