Sean Doherty (Center Conway, N.H.),  Nick Proell (St. Cloud, Minn.) , Anna Kubek(Duluth, Minn.) and Aleksandra Zakrzewska (South Burlington, Vt.) – are off to an impressive start to the 2012 Youth Olympic Games in Innsbruck, Austria.

On the opening day of biathlon competition Sunday, Sean Doherty (Center Conway, N.H.) finished the men’s 7.5K Sprint with a time of 20:47.5, good for 12th place, while Nick Proell (St. Cloud, Minn.) was 32nd with a 22:21.8. On the women’s side in the 6K Sprint, Anna Kubek’s (Duluth, Minn.) time of 18:56.7 placed her 13th and Aleksandra Zakrzewska (South Burlington, Vt.) was 39th with a 21:21.8.

Monday’s Pursuit saw Kubek finishing 10th, Doherty 14th, Proell 40th, and Zakrzewska was 41st.
