Colorado’s Trinidad Lake State Park Closes Boat Ramp for the Season

Starting Dec. 1, 2012, the boat ramp at Trinidad Lake State Park will close for the winter and will reopen March 1, 2013, weather permitting.

Even though the boat ramp is closing, continuing mild daytime temperatures and sunny weather make Trinidad Lake a great place to enjoy shore fishing or hike any of the 10 miles worth of trails surrounding the lake. There are dozens of picnic sites at the overlooks that make great places to stop and enjoy a leisurely lunch.

Those interested in off-season overnight adventure can camp in the first loop of our main campground which has electric and full hookup sites available year-round. The family restrooms – including shower facilities – are open throughout the year as well.

The campground serves as the perfect base camp while you explore historic Trinidad or take a day trip up the Highway of Legends.
