Colorado’s State Forest State Park’s Full Moon Open House, Potluck and Artist Showcase

The snow-covered, winter woods beckon again at State Forest State Park’s second “Full Moon” event for 2012 on Saturday, March 10, starting at dusk. Inside the Moose Visitor Center, five local artists will be showcased: Patsy Barry, Lori Forest, Peg Brocker, Steve Bolander and Karen Miller.

Come and enjoy the beautiful water color and oil paintings, and the glass art that will brighten your winter day. Snowshoe or cross country ski the 6-mile Gould Loop that starts outside the Moose Visitor Center. The route is studded with glow sticks to guide skiers and snowshoers. Everyone gets their “glow on” with glow-in-the-dark jewelry. Hot chocolate and cookies will be provided along the trail at the Chocolate Cabin and everyone is invited to bring food for the potluck at the Moose Visitor Center.

The Full Moon Open House provides a break from cabin fever and an opportunity to discover the magic of moonlight on snow and maybe even a moose. Temperatures drop when the sun sets, so be sure to bundle up.
