Mt. Carmel Fault Wildflower hike, April 19 in Indiana

Participants in this free, guided hike on April 19 will follow an earthquake fault line south of Bloomington in search of spring wildflowers.

The hike will be led by Monroe Lake naturalist Jill Vance. Participants will meet at 6 p.m. at the Paynetown State Recreation Area Activity Center and then caravan to the hike’s starting point, about a 15-minute drive south. The hike will end by 8 p.m.

Vance will lead hikers through a variety of habitats, both on- and off-trail, in search of beautiful spring “ephemerals.”

The hike is limited to 14 people. Registration is required by April 16 to the Paynetown Activity Center at (812) 837-9967 or jvance@dnr.IN.gov (include a phone number).
