My Labor Day weekend was spent at a cottage on Lake Huron in Michigan, so I figured this was the perfect place to put the ECOXGEAR ECOROX waterproof speaker to the test. I tend to stay away from bringing my expensive electronics out onto the dock or on boat rides, fearing they will take the plunge into the water below, but this speaker suggests doing so.

I have to admit, when I first opened the ECOROX speaker, I didn’t have high hopes for the product. It was tiny – about the size of an average car GPS unit. It didn’t seem like it would be able project sound well enough to have everyone on the large pontoon boat hear the music clearly.

However, I gave the speaker – which promotes that it floats, is waterproof, shock resistance, mountable, and is a speakerphone with bluetooth – a shot.
