Kathy McGuire, Executive VP Global Operations of K2 Sports will be awarded the The Outdoor Industries Women’s Coalition (OIWC) 2014 Pioneering Woman Award for the snow-sports industry. The OIWC will be honoring McGuire for being an exemplary female leader who is helping pave the way and inspiring other women in the industry.
The OIWC created the Pioneering Woman Award to honor women in the outdoor industry who have furthered the vision of the OIWC by demonstrating an outstanding commitment to mentoring female colleagues.
“What an honor and compliment to receive this award,” said McGuire. “It inspires me to continue to support and help other women in the snow-sports Industry to pursue their dreams and reach their goals.”
McGuire joined K2 in 1992 as a finished goods buyer and quickly moved her way up in the company. In 2009, McGuire was named Executive VP Global Operations. Over the past 21 years, McGuire has been involved with the company’s business operations and global supply chain, including purchasing, sourcing and planning, logistics, customs compliance, regulatory compliance, customer service, distribution, warranty, and IT.
In addition to her responsibilities at K2 Sports, Kathy served on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Washington (SOWA) and has an advisory role on the board of the OIWC.
McGuire will receive the Pioneering Woman award at the SIA Snow Show Keynote and Award Presentations on Saturday, February 1, at the Mile High Ballroom #4 in Denver, Colorado.
