    Reese Witherspoon Plays PCT Hiker Cheryl Strayed in ‘Wild’

    A few years ago, Cheryl Strayed gained popularity with her New York Times bestselling memoir, Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail. The book tells the story of Strayed’s decision to thru-hike more than 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail after the death of her mother and the collapse of her marriage.

    The book is now being turned into a movie featuring Reese Witherspoon as Strayed. While information about the film has been circulating through the news for some time now, an official trailer was released just last week.

    According to the trailer’s description on YouTube, “Wild powerfully captures the terrors and pleasures of one young woman forging ahead against all odds on a journey that maddens, strengthens, and ultimately heals her.”

    The film is scheduled for theater release on December 5. Check out the trailer below:
