La Sportiva Debuts New Footwear and Apparel for Spring 2015, Including Hiking Boots with Gore-Tex Surround Technology

    The Core High GTX

For Spring 2015, La Sportiva, makers of the world’s finest mountain products for over 80 years, unveils new footwear in several categories as well as apparel for climbing and trail running. The highlight of the season is the Core High GTX and Primer Low GTX hiking boots that employ the new Gore-Tex Surround Technology. Designed to provide 360 degrees of breathability in lightweight, high-performance hiking footwear, the two boots lead the way in an exceptional season of new footwear and apparel.

“The breathability of Gore-Tex Surround technology is really impressive for waterproof footwear and when we combine it with La Sportiva’s craftsmanship and attention to detail, the result is some of the highest performance shoes we’ve ever offered,” says Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva.

The Core High GTX and Primer Low GTX both feature innovative Nano-Cell technology in the upper that wraps the foot while allowing maximum breathability and waterproof protection. STB Technology stabilizes the foot by wrapping the midsole and unifying it with the upper for a perfect locked-down fit. The Gore-Tex Surround technology allows 360 degrees of breathability by placing fabric under the foot that exhausts moisture out the sides with each stride taken. The Core High GTX MSRP is $200 and the Primer Low GTX is $175.

In La Sportiva’s flagship Mountain line, the Trango Alp 2.0 GTX is an all-leather version of the extremely popular Trango Cube. With a 2.2mm IdroPerwanger leather upper for durability and performance and a subskin injection process that molds the upper chassis without stitching or inserts, the boot is completely waterproof and comfortable for three season mountaineering use. The Vibram ONE sole with Impact Brake System delivers amazing technical climbing performance. The boot will retail for $375.

When it comes to Mountain Running, La Sportiva has established itself as the most technical brand on the market. For 2015, the Helios SR and Mutant will provide a new level of performance. The Helios SR is a 8.5 ounce, 2 mm drop shoe that utilizes FriXion XF sticky rubber on the forefoot and FriXion AT rubber on the heel for an excellent combination of performance and durability. An Endurance Platform Rock Guard in the forefoot provides additional protection from rocks and roots. The Mutant is an aggressive, neutral trail shoe with exceptional cushioning and a sticky toothed outsole. At 11.3 ounces, and a 12mm drop, the Mutant is one of the most cushioned shoes in the La Sportiva line. A Spyraltongue provides a customized fit and the Fusiongate lacing System uses high frequency welding reinforcements for a soft, yet supportive lacing harness. The Helios SR has an MSRP of $125 and the Mutant is $130.

A stretchy and breathable tongue adapts to all foot types while the No-Edge sole technology provides unparalleled grip on steep features. The Genius weighs 7.7 ounces and will have an MSRP of $190.

La Sportiva debuted a full line of Mountain Running apparel and a line of climbing apparel last year. For 2015, both lines receive some updates with a focus on functionality and performance. Both feature Polygiene technology to eliminate odor, even after many uses. These shirts will retail for $60.
