Eastern Mountain Sports, the East Coast’s largest outdoor retailer, today announces the grand opening of its Stamford store now relocated at the Ridgeway Shopping Center.  The new location will have children’s gear for the first time, apparel and accessories, in addition to experts that provide personalized fitting for footwear and backpacks.  The 8,144 square-foot store will also feature a road running footwear collection, a paddle sports department (including equipment rental), snowshoes, sleeping bags, backpacks, tents and kayaks.

Leading the selection of outerwear at the new Stamford location is Eastern Mountain Sports’ ultra lightweight men’s and women’s Icarus Down Jacket, Icarus Down Hoodie, and Icarus Down Vest that can be worn alone or as part of a layering system.  These items excel in cold weather adventures and feature DownTek, treated goose down that provides warmth even in wet conditions, and a Durable Water Repellent (DWR) shell to shed light rain and snow.

The grand opening celebration, Sept. 14-20, 2014, will showcase the latest Fall 2014 outerwear and equipment for fall hiking and winter sports activities. Throughout the opening festivities, customers have the opportunity to win prizes with one grand prizewinner receiving a kayak package valued at more than $1,000.
