Mountainsmith’s dedication to the K-9 adventure experience has spanned 30+ years and there’s no slowing the efforts. Looking to inspire more dog-loving adventurers access to the outdoors with their pets, Mountainsmith is excited to pre-launch their fully redesigned 2015 K-9 Pack line at REI just in time for the Falliday buying season.
Currently available exclusively in REI stores nationwide and on REI.com, Mountainsmith has redesigned its 2015 canine saddle bags to be the most “dogonomically” correct gear haulers on the market.
“With their large geographic coverage, REI presents us with the opportunity to offer this product to many dog owners,” states Jay Getzel President of Mountainsmith. “On top of that, we can count on their excellent customer service to ensure that the first users of this extremely ergonomic dog pack are fitted properly.”
With the guidance of Colorado service dog veterinarian, Dr. Robin M. Starr DVM, Med, Mountainsmith Design Lead & Product Line Manager, Luke Boldman redesigned the 2015 K-9 Pack line based on sled dog harness designs to recreate much better freedom of shoulder movement with an innovative chest pad and repositioned straps. The design changes dramatically cut down on any discomfort that can occur as well as muscle, joint and nerve damage when the harness straps move as dogs maneuver on all fours.
