The winter season is just around the corner, but some ski fanatics are getting antsy waiting for snowfall—Italian ski instructor Marco Tomasello and his friend, Simone Braconis being two of them.
These two expert athletes decided they didn’t need fresh powder to hit the slopes of Sicily’s Mt. Etna. Though the volcano is still active, Mt. Etna is actually a popular destination for hikers, bikers, and skiers, though it should be noted that skiers typically wait for winter conditions to set in.
But Tomasello and Braconis weren’t going to let the lack of snow stop them. Instead, the pair strapped in and skied down a fresh layer of ash that covered the volcano’s slopes. They actually get going pretty fast, and turn with relative precision considering there is no actual powder to navigate.
