Now in its 20th year, expedition-brand Fjällräven is again giving people an opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime — but, be warned, the process is quite competitive! The 2025 Fjällräven Polar expedition is gathering 20 ordinary people from nations around the world for a 300-kilometer dog sledding expedition across the Scandinavian Arctic tundra.
“This expedition proves that regardless of previous experience, anyone with the right equipment, knowledge, and support can enjoy winter living — even in Acrtic conditions,” the company said.
The expedition will take place in April 2025. Those selected for the team will learn how to drive a dog sled through vast frozen landscapes, experiencing a world unlike any other. Participants will also learn essential survival skills and adapt to life in the Arctic, where temperatures can drop to minus 35°C.
The global launch event for the 2025 Fjällräven Polar expedition is Oct. 28, and you can access that here.
To apply, you must first fill out the application form on the Fjällräven Experience Hub with basic information. This step is mandatory — applications won’t be processed unless this step has been completed. Then applicants should respond to three challenges, released weekly via the email address provided. Applicants should respond to these challenges by uploading videos, images or text to Instagram and tagging @fjallravenofficial, #FjallravenPolar2025, and the challenge number: #Challenge1, #Challenge2 or #Challenge3.
The Instagram account you use must be set to “public” so the judges can see your content.
“We’ve created these challenges not only to get to know you and your motives for applying to join the expedition, but to encourage you to reflect on your relationship with nature and understand how you might inspire others to spend more time in nature,” Fjällräven said.
All challenges must be completed and posted by 11:59 p.m. CET Nov. 17.
Fjällräven Polar is for anyone who wants to apply. This is a challenging event, mostly because of the conditions, so applicants should have a reasonable level of fitness. They must also be over the age of 18, be able to speak English, and have an open and flexible, learning mindset.
