Official boating handbooks, which summarize state boating regulations and safety information, are now available for most states as e-books. These state-specific boating handbooks, which are published by Kalkomey, parent company of Boat Ed and www.boat-ed.com, are available for a variety of e-readers.

“Providing boating handbooks as digital e-books is a natural extension of Kalkomey’s expertise with print-based recreational safety content,” said Edward Cossette, user experience manager for Kalkomey. “With our e-books, we’re able to offer boaters the convenience of using their tablet or smart phone to find boating information, even when they’re on the water.”

An added benefit of providing boating regulations and safety advice in an e-book format is some states can offer additional information such as pump-out station locations, sunrise/sunset charts, tide tables, and fish identification facts.

Boat Ed’s e-books are official publications developed for the state agency responsible for boating safety education. They are available for download on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iBooks and on your computer with iTunes. In addition, Boat Ed’s e-books are available for the Kindle and Nook devices and apps.
