Pumps and buckets are always a great way to pitch water out of your boat. But the easiest trick in the book to remove water from your boat is to drive it down the lake. If your boat has a drain plug and a smooth working engine then I recommend that you drive down a safe stretch of water and then pull the drain plug. Be sure that the boat is moving when you do this and that you can replace the plug quickly when the water is gone while the boat is still moving forward.
If you can’t control the boat and can’t manage pull the plug then don’t try this. You will only end up with more water in the boat. This trick worked for me last year as I made a quick dash back to the boat ramp because of a hole in my boat. I left the plug out as I drove back to the ramp and it saved my boat.
