ATLANTA, Ga.- Boaters and anglers that frequent the Morgan Falls Dam tailwater of the Chattahoochee River near Sandy Springs will be excited to know that the construction to replace the boat ramp has been completed, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division.
Replacement of the previous ramp was necessary due to deterioration. This new ramp ensures boat access at Morgan Falls Dam tailwater for years to come. Ramp construction was done by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, Wildlife Resources Division using Sport Fish Restoration funds.
Anglers should note that this area offers great summer fishing for largemouth and shoal bass, striped bass and some trout from the previous delayed harvest season. The new boat ramp makes launching of a vessel easier and a new fishing pier, completed earlier this year by Georgia Power Company, makes for a great day of fishing! The Morgan Falls Dam area on the Chattahoochee River is open daily from dawn until dusk.
