There are DNR campsites/cabins available for Independence Day weekend, so time still remains to plan a holiday outing.
“The weather is supposed to be good, so if people haven’t made plans yet, there are still plenty of great opportunities out there,” said Christie Wilmoth, business services program director for the DNR State Parks & Reservoirs.
As with any other time, reservations can be made online for campsites until 11:59 p.m. the night before arrival, or until 8 p.m. the night before arrival through the call center. The minimum stay at a campsite for the upcoming weekend is Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, with checkout on Monday, July 4.
Reservations for shelters can be made until two days prior to arrival. To reserve a cabin, campsite or shelter, visit www.camp.IN.gov or call 1-866-6CAMPIN.
If you want to camp but haven’t made up your mind where to go or just need more information, property maps and facility information can be viewed at www.stateparks.IN.gov.
