Buff, Inc. Ambassador Rebecca Rusch Chases Third Consecutive Leadville Trail 100 Victory

Buff, Inc., known for stylish, versatile and innovative multifunctional headwear, will support Rebecca Rusch’s quest for a third consecutive Leadville Trail 100 victory. Rusch will line up at the August 13 race looking to become the first three-time women’s division winner while defending her consecutive victories in 2009 and 2010. Known as the “Queen of Pain,” Rusch has spent her spring and summer traveling the country and hosting women’s cycling skills and advocacy clinics as part of her inaugural “Gold Rusch” tour.

Rusch’s trademark accessory in the past two editions of the Leadville 100 has been the Seamless Headband Buff®. It’s designed to fit comfortably under a helmet and cyclists love its size and functionality as a helmet liner, headband or skullcap. Made with CoolMax® Extreme, it blocks 95-percent of UV rays, wicks sweat, keeps you cool in hotter months, and provides an extra layer of warmth to slide over your ears on cold days, like chilly Leadville mornings above 10,000 feet. Polygiene® silver ion treatment prevents odor-causing bacteria and keeps your helmet and headband smelling fresh.

“Rebecca embodies everything that the Leadville 100 demands. Her determination, courage, and skill have made her a legend in the sport of cycling and we’re excited to support her during this historic challenge,” said Shirley Choi Brunetti, general manager and vice president, Buff, Inc. “Rebecca’s countless hours in the saddle have made her an ideal Buff, Inc. product tester and ambassador.”

The Seamless Headband Buff® is available in a variety of stylish colors and patterns and, in January 2012, Buff, Inc. will release new state designs for cyclists loyal to the U.S.’ two most famous pedaling paradises, Colorado and California.

The grueling Leadville 100 is a race that covers 104 miles, includes 11,600 feet of climbing, and peaks out at 12,600 feet above sea level. The race, made famous by Lance Armstrong’s 2009 appearance (and victory), is a renowned event that attracts the biggest names in the sport in addition to more than 1,500 riders from 48 states and 21 countries. Rusch currently holds the women’s course record. Stay tuned to Buff, Inc.’s new blog for updates and results and check out Rusch’s Buff, Inc. ambassador profile here.
