Ryan Schanno wins the Mountaineering in Ecuador trip and prize package.
With an incredible Mountaineering in Ecuador trip scheduled for the coming year, Ryan Schanno is the first winner in the three-part‘A Year of Adventure Sweepstakes’, hosted by Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides.
The Mountaineering in Ecuador trip is the first of three trips to be given away by Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes. Anyone wanting a chance at the trip of a lifetime can still enter to win one of the two remaining trips, including a trek to Everest Base Camp and heli skiing in Alaska.

Launched on April 8, 2011, the ‘A Year of Adventure’ consumer sweepstakes offers contestants an incredible opportunity to learn mountaineering skills in Ecuador, win a trek to Everest Base Camp, or access untracked powder via helicopter in the Alaska backcountry. Premier guide service Alaska Mountain Guides (AMG) will lead the trips and Sierra Designs will supply apparel and equipment.
Ryan and a guest will learn mountaineering skills and experience the diverse culture of Ecuador as the winner of the Mountaineering in Ecuador sweepstakes. Both Ryan and his guest will be outfitted with an equipment prize pack including an SD Mountain Meteor 3 tent, Arrow Rock 15 sleeping bags, Revival 65 packs, and Mantra Fusion Jackets.
The next trip offered in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes will be a three week trek through Nepal to base camp at the foot of Mount Everest. The Everest Base Camp Sweepstakes is live now, closing on December 17 with a prizewinner randomly selected and notified the next day. The Everest Base Camp prize package includes an SD Convert 3 tent, Revival 50 packs, Mantra Fusion jackets, and Fusion Pants.
The third and final prize in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes is a heli ski trip to Alaska. Our winner and a guest will float through untracked powder on seldom-skied peaks in the Alaska Backcountry. The Heli Skiing in Alaska sweeps will start on December 18 with a winner drawn on April 17, 2012. This prize pack will include Ministry 40 packs, Gnar down jackets, Mantra Fusion jackets, and Fusion pants.
