NEMO Equipment, Inc., a leader in innovative AirSupported™ and Extreme Conditions tents, sleeping pads and backcountry accessories, has partnered with Waypoint Outdoor for representation in the Pacific Northwest and Groupe 7 1/2 & Co. in Ontario and the Maritimes.
Waypoint was started in 2008 when friends Bob Holding, (previously from Patagonia, Arc’teryx and Lotus Designs), and Jim Purdy (from Purdy & Associates) teamed up to combine their years of experience in the outdoor industry to support leading technical outdoor brands. Based in Seattle, Waypoint currently represents Arc’teryx, Suunto, KEEN, Solio and Vasque.
“There are three big reasons why the teaming of NEMO and Waypoint makes sense, said Bob Holding:
- NEMO complements our assortment of brands and the spirit of innovation those brands carry;
- Both Waypoint and NEMO pride themselves on giving people what they didn’t know they needed – products that push the envelope when it comes to design, materials and function;
- We really see NEMO as a brand on the move; one the marketplace is ready to see grow and come into its own. Now is the time and we’re excited to facilitate that next step.”
“I am excited to work with Waypoint,” said John Faherty, NEMO’s director of sales. “They have built their reputation on growing technical brands and providing outstanding service to their dealers. NEMO feels like a natural fit in their product line. Their retail success and industry background will provide the nourishment NEMO needs to grow as a brand in the Northwest and beyond.”
In Canada, NEMO has also brought on Groupe 7 ½ & Co. for its Ontario and Maritime representation. Groupe 7 ½ currently represents Kayland Footwear, Icebug, Granite Gear, and Fluid Kayaks, among others.
Stephen Bergeron, principle of Group 7 ½ & Co. had this to say about the partnership, “It is with great pleasure that we are representing the most innovative tent and sleeping pad brand in the outdoor market. We are excited to offer Ontario and the Maritimes a strong product with great customer service. We support a broad range of brands in footwear, packs, and water sports, and I know NEMO will be a great addition to our array.”
