BoatUS Honored with Golden Glow Award at AGLOW Annual Conference

Lake Rathbun, Iowa, September 28, 2011 – Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatUS) was honored with an Association of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers (AGLOW) “Golden Glow Award” at the group’s annual conference held last week at Honey Creek Resort on Lake Rathbun, Iowa. The Golden Glow is ALGOW’s highest honor, nominated and selected by the Council of Past Presidents. It was given to BoatUS for its “appreciation of your exemplary outreach of service, information, and advocacy to the boating and fishing community, and your support of the greater outdoor media.”

Accepting on behalf of the half-million member Association, BoatUS Assistant Vice President of Public Relations D. Scott Croft said, “Since we joined AGLOW five years ago, the members have embraced our message of advocacy and service, giving boat-owning anglers a voice on Capitol Hill on issues such as mandatory life jacket wear, ethanol in fuel, preserving access, and fighting to keep GPS alive. And thanks to AGLOW’s outdoor communicators, anglers know the value of BoatUS Angler membership and having a helping hand 24/7 when you have a breakdown on the water or traveling down the road,” added Croft.

“AGLOW is very grateful for BoatUS’ partnership and outreach to the outdoor media,” said AGLOW Executive Director Josh Lantz. “Their wide-ranging projects and programs have made boating easier, safer and more enjoyable for over 40 years”, continues Lantz. “We’re proud to help spread their message”.
