Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA), a nonprofit organization that protects, preserves, and promotes the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) is honored to receive a generous donation of LED flashlights from LED Lenser® USA, based in Portland, Oregon. LED Lenser (Solingen, Germany) was purchased in April by Leatherman Tool Group. They manufacture three large lines of LED headlamps, handheld and diving lights for outdoor enthusiasts.

The PCTA coordinates thousands of hours of volunteer efforts to keep the PCTA open and safe for the millions of hikers and equestrians who enjoy it every year. With the support of LED Lenser, PCTA will “light the way” for the many high school students we engage in volunteering on the trail every year.  Many of these young people don’t have the equipment they need to enjoy and sustain the PCT, and these flashlights will ensure they have safe and enjoyable experiences while helping out and getting healthy on the trail.

In 2,650 miles from Canada to Mexico, the PCT unifies the most spectacular natural places in California, Oregon and Washington into one epic experience. According to Liz Bergeron, Executive Director of the PCTA, “The Pacific Crest Trail travels across deserts, over mountains and beautiful wilderness through three states.  The young people who enjoy and maintain the PCT have life changing experiences and carry a love for the trail for the rest of their lives.  We thank LED Lenser for providing our young volunteers with the quality flashlights they need to explore, enjoy and steward the PCT.”
