Pierre, S.D. – Entrepreneurs interested in operating a marina on Lake Oahe at Indian Creek Recreation Area near Mobridge can submit proposals to the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
The prospectus for Bridge City Marina is available online and through GFP, describing terms and conditions under which interested persons may submit proposals. It also details the business opportunity and includes a draft concession agreement for a 10-year period.
“Indian Creek Recreation Area has been a key access point and recreation center for upper Lake Oahe for decades” said Doug Hofer, State Parks and Recreation Director. “Bridge City Marina provides important services to fishermen and boaters who use that area.”
Required services for the business include a marina, lodging, cabin rentals, retail goods, and boat fuel. Proposals must be postmarked by Nov. 16, 2011.
Lake Oahe is South Dakota’s largest body of water with over 300,000 acres, extending northward 230 miles from Pierre to Bismarck, North Dakota. Its endless beauty, clean water, open shorelines and central location make Oahe one of South Dakota’s most extraordinary recreational resources.

Indian Creek Recreation Area is located two miles east of Mobridge, just off Highway 12, featuring two campgrounds with 124 campsites and two cabins.
