Work off some of those Thanksgiving calories on Sunday, Nov. 27, with a Pate Hollow trail hike.
Hikers should meet the naturalist at the trailhead, which is located in the parking lot behind the Paynetown State Recreation Area office at 1 p.m. The office building is located at 4850 South State Road 446, north of the causeway.
Before the hike begins, the naturalist will speak briefly about the history of the Pate Hollow tract and discuss why it was purchased by the Hoosier National Forest.
The hike will be approximately four miles over fairly rugged terrain. The trail winds in and out of the hollow through a mixed hardwood forest.
Monroe Lake is at 4850 South State Road 446, Bloomington, 47401.
