Boulder, CO – Zeal Optics announced that it has entered a three-year agreement as an Official Supplier of U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing, global brands of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA), through 2014.
Zeal Optics, the company that created the world’s first ski goggles with built-in GPS systems, will be an Official Supplier to the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association, while partnering to provide an on-hill event experience at the Slopestyle and Superpipe competitions for both the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix and Revolution Tour.
“This is such an important partnership,” says Joe Prebich, director of marketing at Zeal Optics. “The Grand Prix Tour truly has been the place where the best athletes in the world come to prove themselves. Whether qualifying for the Olympics or just making a name for themselves, the USSA has provided a platform for pushing the sport forward and we want to support that type of progress.”
“Zeal Optics will be a great partner addition to our Grand Prix and Revolution Tour programs,” said the USSA’s Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, Andrew Judelson. “As an industry leader, Zeal is an innovator, much like the athletes in these events. And the company is well aligned with our own values and ideals.”
The USSA’s Grand Prix and Revolution Tour circuits are among the primary event series for the new Olympic events of halfpipe skiing plus slopestyle skiing and snowboarding. The new events will debut at the 2014 Olympics, with the Grand Prix circuit being a prime component for Olympic selection.
This season, Zeal will be the exclusive goggles and sunglasses featured at the Sprint U.S. Grand Prix at Copper Mountain, CO (December 7-10, 2011) and Mammoth Mountain, CA (March 1-4, 2012).
“We’ve got the most advanced goggles in the business, so it only makes sense to align with the best events in the sports of snowboarding and freeskiing through USSA,” added Prebich. “The game is totally different than it was before. All the athletes are amazing. So any small advantage, be it in your training or in your equipment, makes a difference. With our new Z3 GPS Goggle, we can illustrate another advantage to how technology can be more than just a cool element of your gear, it can define your performance.”
As an Official Supplier to U.S. Snowboarding and U.S. Freeskiing, Zeal Optics will continue to push the levels of performance integration into athletic competition. Not only will Zeal Optics be present with its entire goggle line at these events, but also with a totally redesigned sunglass collection. Built with bio-based Z-Resin™, the 2012 line blends active elements with lifestyle designs creating a unique style that fits perfectly in an active lifestyle.
