NBC presents coverage of the Emmy award-winning World of Adventure Sports this Sunday, at 2 p.m. ET. Todd Harris brings viewers the final episode of the 2011 season from the Men’s Health Urbanathlon in San Francisco, Calif. This week’s episode showcases the following four events: Red Bull Dream Line, 2011 Score Baja 1000, North Face Expedition to Denali and Teton Gravity Research in British Columbia.
In this Sunday’s episode, BMX dirt champion Anthony Napolitan shows Dream Line, the ultimate BMX dirt trails course. Made from a skill hill in Wabasha, Minn., Dream Line includes a no holds barred jam format contest between several progressive riders.
WOAS will follow COPS Racing Team from the deserts of the Baja Peninsula for the SCORE Baja 1000. This is the 44th year of this event and it’s known as one of the most iconic motorsports events in the world. It draws thousands of people and some of the biggest names in racing.
This season’s North Face Expedition reports from Denali, Alaska. Conditions were not favorable with blue ice and high risk for accidents, but mountaineers on The North Face team utilized the 20,320-foot peak to mentor less-experienced members. WOAS tags along with Hilaree O’Neill, Conrad Anker, Jim Zellers, Giulia Monego, Emilio Previtali, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Lucas Debari as they learn firsthand, the ins and outs of Denali.
The final segment of WOAS features Teton Gravity Research’s excursion to British Columbia for their new film One for the Road. Despite the snowfall being the worst in nearly 40 years, the team of Ian McIntosh, Sage Cattabriga-Alosa and Daron Rahlves are able to ski several first descents near Juneau, Alaska with McIntosh skiing at his highest level to date.
