Lincoln, NE – Winter is no time to keep the family home when Eugene T. Mahoney State Park offers so many activities for all ages.
Visitors can paint ceramics at the Craft Center, take in a play at Kountze Memorial Theater, and enjoy the Activity Center’s indoor playground, activity simulators and outdoor ice skating rink. When weather permits, there is ice-fishing at Qwest Lake, sledding on three toboggan runs and snow shoeing or cross-country skiing on the trails. Patrons should bring their own sleds.
Best of all, there is a 30-percent discount on lodging rates Sunday through Thursday nights in the winter, except holidays.
The park is located near Ashland off exit 426 of Interstate 80. A park entry permit is required of each vehicle entering the park.
Call the park at 402-944-2523 for information regarding hours and snow and ice conditions.
