HESTRA Takes Gloves to the Next Level in 2012-13

HESTRA, the leading international glove brand in skiing, outdoor recreation and leisure, will unveil new technology, colors and glove options for the 2012-13 winter season that will keep fingers even warmer and offer more functionality for winter enthusiasts. According to HESTRA USA President Dino Dardano, 2012-13 will be a game changer for HESTRA, which will take its glove line to the next level offering products with its patented new Ergo Griptechnology, a partnership with swisswool, new colors and updated design of its traditional gloves as well as new models, including a heated mitt. “We’re excited to provide winter enthusiasts with new options for comfort, control, fit and style,” said Dardano.

Ergo Grip is a patented development process that makes it possible to sew gloves with different levels of pre-curved fingers for optimal grip. Dardano says Ergo Grip will provide a very close fit on the palm with minimal excess material allowing skiers and snowboarders a phenomenal fit. Ergo Grip will be offered on three new styles designed for freeride, spring skiing and downhill racing. “The Ergo Grip is an example of how HESTRA continues to be a leader in design and development of gloves,” said Dardano. “There is truly nothing comparable in the market place.”

HESTRA also has partnered with swisswool out of Switzerland to produce insulation that is natural, free of toxins, ecological and, most importantly, warm. The new material is comfortable and delivers the perfect combination of warmth and wearability, simplicity and natural feel. Additionally, the swisswool fill is breathable, moisture wicking, machine washable and offered in a variety of gloves including the Leather Wool Merino, Wool Merino Loft Mitt and in a number of HESTRA’s casual-wear gloves.

HESTRA developed one of the first heated gloves available on the market and has redesigned this technology to offer four heated models, three available in the U.S., including a new mitt option for the warmest protection on the market. The heated gloves offer warmth for up to eight hours using a Thermic heating system and are wind and waterproof.

Dardano says HESTRA’s color story also will continue to expand for the 2012-13 season and the company will offer new options including a flaming red color for the Seth Morrison Pro model. HESTRA is the only company that offers such a variety of colors available for leather gloves and mitts. “We’re continuing to raise the bar, improve quality and offer winter enthusiasts the best gloves possible for every outdoor sport,” said Dardano. “2012-13 will be exciting with innovative functionality that new and existing HESTRA wearers will appreciate as they tackle the winter elements.”

HESTRA produces over 200 styles of gloves for alpine skiing and snowboarding, ski racing, cross country sports, liners, leisure, outdoor recreation, cycling, mountaineering and gloves for the workforce. For 75 years, the company has been committed to developing quality, long lasting gloves for variety of users.
