Sierra Designs Draws Second Winner in ‘A Year of Adventure’ Sweepstakes

Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides have selected the second winner in their ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes.  This time, Emily Stimpson will be flown to Nepal for a three week trek through the Himalayan region with a stop at Everest Base Camp, courtesy of Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides.

The Everest Base Camp trip is the second of three trips to be given away by Sierra Designs and Alaska Mountain Guides in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes.  With one more prize package left to give away, there is still time to enter to win the third and final drawing for a heli skiing trip to Alaska.

“Well, I’m officially jealous,” said Sue Timbo, marketing director with Sierra Designs.  “Three weeks of trekking in Nepal with an overnight at Everest Base Camp will be an incredible trip and we’re excited to send one of our fans on the adventure of a lifetime.  Best of luck to everyone entered to win our third and final trip.”

Launched in April 2011, the ‘A Year of Adventure’ consumer sweepstakes gives contestants an incredible opportunity to learn mountaineering skills in Ecuador, win a trek to Everest Base Camp, or access untracked powder via helicopter in the Alaska backcountry.  Premier guide service Alaska Mountain Guides (AMG) will lead the trips and Sierra Designs will supply apparel and equipment.

Emily Stimpson, the winner in our Everest Base Camp sweepstakes, will bring a lucky guest for three weeks trekking through Nepal at the foot of the Himalaya.  Incredible scenery, legendary Sherpa hospitality, and a night at Everest Base Camp await.  Both Emily Stimpson and guest will be outfitted with an equipment prize pack including an SD Convert 3 tent, Jubilee 50 and Revival 50 packs, Rad jackets, and Fusion Pants.

The third and final prize in the ‘A Year of Adventure’ sweepstakes is a heli ski trip to Alaska.   Our winner and a guest will float through untracked powder on seldom-skied peaks in the Alaska backcountry.  The Heli Skiing in Alaska sweeps is live now with a winner to be drawn on April 17, 2012.  This prize pack will include Ministry 40 packs, Gnar down jackets, Mantra Fusion jackets, and Fusion pants.

The previous prize winner in the Mountaineering in Ecuador sweepstakes is Ryan Schanno who will spend over two weeks learning mountaineering skills and experiencing the diverse culture of Ecuador.  Both Ryan and his guest received an equipment prize pack including, Arrow Rock 15 sleeping bags, Revival 65 packs, Mantra Fusion Jackets and an SD Mountain Meteor 3 tent
