Boat Ed, an official provider of print and Internet boating safety courses, is the premier supporter of the International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS), held March 4-7, 2012, in San Diego, Calif.
The IBWSS is the primary event for training, awareness, meeting, and networking for boating and water safety professionals. Now in its 16th year, the conference is a joint program hosted by the National Safe Boating Council and the National Water Safety Congress.
“Boat Ed is such a leader in this field. Not only do they produce quality education products, they support safe boating in so many other ways,” said Cecilia Duer, executive director of the National Water Safety Congress. “As the premier supporter for the 2012 IBWSS, they’ve agreed to sponsor the event’s opening reception, the awards banquet and a special session where our implementing partners will bring to life the U.S. Coast Guard Recreational Boating Safety Strategic Plan.”
The four-day summit also will include breakout sessions geared toward education, risk management, law enforcement, and communications and outreach. In 2011, more than 350 professionals attended the IBWSS, and similar numbers are expected for the 2012 Summit.
“The IBWSS is the one event that brings in the key players of the boating safety community together. It is that face-to-face opportunity to meet with others with common goals and to discover ideas and exchange information on programs and products that advance boating safety education, outreach and training,” said Virgil Chambers, executive director of the National Safe Boating Council.
