adidas Outdoor will have a large presence at the event hosted by the Hueco Valley Foundation, featuring product giveaways and a special presentation by brand ambassador and elite climber Courtney Sanders. Proceeds from the competition are donated to Hueco Tanks State Park’s Lone Star Legacy Trust Fund, for keeping the well-known climbing area clean and ensuring future access.

The Adult Competition on Saturday, March 3, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. has six categories: Recreational (v0-v3), Intermediate (v4-v6), Advanced (v7-9), Open/Pro Athlete (v10+), Chasing the Stars (climbing the most number of high quality problems that garner the most stars) and Masters (40+ climbers).
A competitor’s top six climbs will be counted toward their final score. Prize money in the Pro category is $1,000 for first place, $500 for second place and $250 for third, for both men and women. The top three winners across all other categories will receive product prizes. This is the first year there will be a Youth category in the Hueco Rock Rodeo competition. Participation in this category is limited to 40 competitors, and climbers ages 16 and under. The Youth Competition takes place Sunday, March 4, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
