FREE snowshoe rentals will be available at Stagecoach State Park all winter long to help visitors explore the trails and beautiful scenery. Snowshoe hikes provide a break from cabin fever, an opportunity to discover the magic of a snow covered valley and a chance to see and hear wildlife.
Please call the park office to reserve snowshoes for you and your friends and family. Snowshoes are intended to be used at Stagecoach State Park only, and as always, a valid park pass is required to recreate in the park.
Stagecoach State Park offers six miles of groomed trails around the reservoir for winter recreation. The Lakeview Trail is two miles long and can be accessed from the Keystone day use area, or the parking lot on RCR 14. The 4-mile Elk Run Trail will be used periodically by dog sled tours and a tour schedule is located at the tent in the parking lot on RCR 16. For the ultimate trail use experience, remember that Nordic skiers yield to dog sleds, and snowshoers yield to skiers. Pets are welcome, but must be kept on a 6-ft. leash at all times.
