A little over a week ago the Oscars rounded off the annual award season, but it was not just Hollywood celebrating. While the stars of the movie world were preparing for the 84th Academy Awards in Los Angeles, the stars of the powerboat racing world were gathering in Seattle, Washington for the Air National Guard H1 Unlimited’s Hydroplane Series, Annual Gala Honors.
Peters & May CEO David Holley was among the 240 guests, and was honoured to receive two awards; ‘The Marketing Award’, for Peters & May’s efforts in marketing both itself and the Series, and another, ‘The Chairman’s Award’, honouring David personally for his commitment to powerboat racing.
These awards are the most recent in a long line of accolades Peters & May has gratefully received in the past few months, including The Institute of Transport Managements ‘Best Yacht Logistics Company 2011’, the RYA’s ‘Offshore Powerboat Sponsor of the Year’, and recognitions as a finalist for BIFA’s ‘Project Forwarding Award’.
When issuing their award, The Institute ofTransport Management made the following comments. “This accreditation comes on the back of an extensive research campaign by the Institute over a 6 weeks period, and is a testament to the hard working staff at the company, and of course its excellent standards in yacht logistics. The Institute is highly impressed with Peters & May’s track record in customer service, as well as its commitment to continual expansion and innovation. This is a company which quite literally delivers. The award of ‘Best Yacht Logistics Company 2011’ is richly deserved. Congratulations to all who contributed to this success.”
Peters & May is proud to have received awards from such a wide spectrum of governing bodies, illustrating not only its established position as the most experienced and knowledgeable boat transport provided in the market, but also its commitment to reinvesting in the sport that drives the industry.
David Holley, CEO of Peters & May Group, and powerboat enthusiast himself says “The increased level of investment Peters & May has made into both sailing and powerboat racing makes sense on many levels. We are passionate about investing in the future of both sports and by being a preferred supplier to the likes of Skandia Team GBR and the UIM Youth Development Programme, we are helping to grow the interest of new generations in marine sports, and that is really important to us”.
