At the recent Miami International Boat Show, BRP continued its award-winning streak in the marine industry with its fifth National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) Innovation Award in four years for its new high-performance 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 watercraft.
“BRP’s Sea-Doo ErgoLock seat, angled footwells, and T3 hull combine to create a PWC with incredible turning ability and maximum comfort designed to build confidence in its rider. It made me an instant expert,” said NMMA Innovation Award judge Alan Jones..
For the fourth consecutive year, BRP won the NMMA Innovation Award in the PWC, Jet Boats, and Pontoon Boats category. The all-new 2012 Sea-Doo RXP-X 260 watercraft follows the
Sea-Doo GTI 130 model (2011 winner), Sea-Doo RXT-X 260 watercraft and BRP MOVE iCatch trailer (2010 winners), and the Sea-Doo GTX Limited iS 255 PWC (2009 winner) in BRP’s innovation awards legacy by introducing the next generation of high-performance watercraft that allows the rider to fully realize the performance potential with improved rider ergonomics and a new hull design.
“BRP redefines watercraft with the introduction of the Sea-Doo RXP-X 260* model, marking the next generation of high-performance PWC,” said Yves Leduc, vice-president – general manager, North America division. “Winning five of these prestigious NMMA Innovation awards in four years is a tribute to BRP’s dedication to developing designs and technologies that lead the marine industry and the boating public into the future.”
The new Sea-Doo RXP-X watercraft redefines the musclecraft segment with an ominous visual appeal from its flowing facet design, ram air intakes, large side grills and distinctive new ErgoLock system and tight-turning T3 hull. BRP’s Ergolock system includes angled footwell wedges and a gradually narrowing seat design to help better connect the rider to the watercraft. It reduces upper body fatigue by allowing the rider to ride faster, for longer periods of time. BRP’s Ergolock system complements the tight turning aspect of the T3 hull that features an innovative dual surface design that responds differently at high or low speeds. The new T3 hull shape combines soft and hard chines and adjustable sponsons with winglets and trim tabs that allow the watercraft to lean into corners, better maintaining entry and exit speeds after turns.
“BRP continues to be recognized for developing groundbreaking innovations that enhance the riding experience for our consumers’ around the world,” stated Chris Dawson, vice-president and general manager, International division. “This latest recognition for the new Sea-Doo
RXP-X 260* watercraft reinforces BRP’s standing as the industry leader, both in terms of performance and safety.”
