Dagger has announced its pro team for the 2012 season, celebrating more than two decades since the very first Team Dagger hit the water in the late 80’s. Team Dagger athletes will continue the heritage of competing at the highest levels of kayaking, as well as exploring remote rivers of the world and using their unique position in the action sports world to promote activist and philanthropic causes.
“The athletes on Team Dagger are boaters, first and foremost, but they’re also intimately involved with the design and testing of each Dagger boat,” said Cheri McKenzie, chief marketing officer at Dagger and Confluence Watersports. “When you paddle a Dagger, you know that it’s been inspired by, tweaked and approved by the best kayakers in the world. As the team has grown more diverse, the Dagger boat line-up reflects that diversity, with a unique capacity to imbue performance and precision in every offering and for every paddler.”
Team Dagger is pleased to welcome back Andrew Holcombe in his role as athlete and team manager for the 3rd year. “Team Dagger represents the best that kayaking has to offer,” adds Andrew. “These ladies and gentlemen are at the top of their disciplines – whether that be expedition kayaking, freestyle, instruction, philanthropy, extreme racing, or just plain kayaking. I’m looking forward to a great year and seeing what they all accomplish. We look forward to seeing you on the water!”
