The British Marine Federation’s South West Region has appointed three new Directors to join its Board. Hannah Cash from Yachting Lawyers, Alice Driscoll from ADPR, and Robin East, from Holts were formally elected at the BMF SW region’s annual conference and AGM.
The BMF SW region accounts for over 30% of the UK’s £2.9 billion marine industry turnover. It is also the largest employer in the marine sector, providing nearly 10,000 jobs across the south west region. The region extends from Bristol and South Gloucestershire, to Somerset, Devon, Cornwall and Jersey.
The BMF SW holds regular Board meetings, to which all BMF SW regional members are encouraged to attend, and hosts an annual conference and AGM, and ‘On the Water’, an event to encourage members of the public to have a go at boating, organised in conjunction with South Devon Marine.
The three new Board members join ten other Directors selected from within the region. Welcoming them to the Board, BMF SW Chair Will Blagdon also thanked Pip Patterson from Multihull Centre, who stepped down as Director, for his many years to support. Will said, “We are a very active marine region, with representatives from the super yacht sector, through to niche manufacturers, and service suppliers specialising in the marine sector. Our Board members are critical for helping us deliver support to our members, which this year has included the launch of our new website, a useful tool to help promote and publicise our members, activities, and improve communication across the region.”
