Colorado’s Chatfield State Park Opens to Boating

Chatfield State Park is now open for boating. Due to early season conditions, boaters should keep a lookout for possible floating debris and always be aware that unmarked hazards may exist. If debris or hazards are discovered please notify park staff. Before boating, check that your vessel has all of the required safety items on board.

To prevent the spread of aquatic nuisance species (ANS), including zebra and quagga mussels, all trailered vessels must be inspected prior to launch. Initially, the North Boat Ramp will be open for launching, and ANS inspections are available between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily until April 1 when the south ramp will be open as well, with inspection available between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. daily. The inspection times at both ramps will change starting May 1 from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Vessels planning to launch outside of posted inspection times will require a pre-inspection seal attached prior to launch which can be obtained during normal inspection hours. Pre-inspection seals are to be removed by boaters upon launching, and placed in the pre-inspection drop box, along with their corresponding seal receipt, located at the boat ramp. Remember to always clean, drain, and dry your vessel to help prevent the spread of ANS.
