The established British yacht, the Sigma 38 is joining forces with the new graphics company, Coast Graphics at their National Championships. Coast Graphics who bring technology, creativity and resources to the marine industry, are supplying graphics as well as prizes of crew gear. Malcolm Dunderdale, Managing Director of Coast Graphics say “I believe this regatta will provide the perfect opportunity to broaden our profile within the world of yachting and we are delighted to be associated with the Sigma 38 Nationals.” Additional sponsorship support is coming from Yachting Sports, Ocean Safely, 1 Sails, SeaTrack and RS Divers.
The Royal Lymington Yacht Club is hosting the 24th Sigma 38 National Championships over the first May Bank Holiday weekend 5th-7th May. The race committee will organize Olympic courses in Christchurch Bay, round the can racing in the Western Solent and, in keeping with the Sigma 38 offshore pedigree, a longer coastal race in the channel.
The Nationals are just one event of the Sigma 38s action packed events calendar which despite the economic situation are widely attended. There are more Sigma 38s entered in the 2012 Warsash Spring Series than any other one design keel boat. Rob Lee, the new class chairman, states “the enduring popularity of this class is down to its one design status which we fiercely protect. It’s fitting that we should work with Coast Graphics with their expertise in branding.”
