Motorboat Testing Day Set for Lake Elmo in Montana

Lake Elmo in Billings Heights will open to motorboats for testing and boat inspections from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday May 19, 2012.

The 63-acre lake in Billings Heights normally is closed to all gasoline-powered motors. But once a year, at the start of the boating season, Montana State Parks allows motorboat owners to test their vessels on the lake.

U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary officials will be at the boat ramp on the northwest shore of Lake Elmo to inspect boats for safety and compliance.

Lake Elmo State Park is one of 54 state parks in Montana that feature unique recreational, cultural, historic or natural resources.  For more information, visit Montana State Parks online at http://stateparks.mt.gov.
