Kalkomey, an official provider of recreational safety education products, has reached a new milestone by providing state-approved safety training to more than 13 million boaters and hunters.

Approximately 5.1 million students have received their boating license by taking a course at www.boat-ed.com or by using Kalkomey’s Boat America series of manuals in the classroom. Through Kalkomey’s Today’s Hunter classroom manuals and www.hunter-ed.com, 8.3 million students have taken a hunter safety course and received their hunter education certification.

Kalkomey works with the state agencies responsible for boater and hunter safety education to produce state-specific courses. The online training at boat-ed.com and hunter-ed.com is state-approved and covers the same material that’s taught in the classroom. Students can now take a boat-ed.com course on any device including smart phones and tablets. The new mobile-ready site features realistic illustrations, interactive animations and live-action videos.

In addition, Kalkomey produces state-approved boating handbooks that summarize state regulations and safety information for boaters. These handbooks are now available in a convenient e-book format for iPad, Kindle and Nook users.
