South Dakota’s Blood Run Nature Area Offers Final Evening Hike

Spirits of the Forest, a self-guided evening autumn walk, will be held a final time on Saturday, November 3 at Blood Run Nature Area.

“For an optimal experience, visitors should plan to arrive after 6 p.m. and plan to spend an hour on the trail walking down to ‘Pumpkin Hollow,’ said Edward Raventon, Blood Run naturalist. He also recommended a flashlight. A campfire and hot cider will be available after the walk.

Blood Run Nature Area is located at the end of 270th Street a mile east of Lincoln County Highway 135, southeast of Sioux Falls. The event is free to the public and pre-registration is not required. For more information about the event or directions, e-mail TOC@state.sd.us.
