    First Pine Seedlings for Texas’ Bastrop State Park

    Volunteers will begin planting the first of some 220,000 drought-resistant Loblolly pine seedlings in Bastrop State Park Saturday morning, the first step in restoring the storied Lost Pines so severely impacted by the 2011 Labor Day weekend wildlfire that blackened much of the park and Bastrop County.

    When: Beginning at 7:30 a.m. Saturday Dec. 1

    Where: Bastrop State Park Headquarters.
