    January 26     Antelope Island State Park – Syracuse

    Island Hikes: Join us at 1 p.m., at the Fielding Garr Ranch for a moderate four-mile hike to Mushroom Springs and discussion on the island’s history surrounding the use of water. At 4:30 p.m., meet at the Buffalo Point Overlook parking lot to experience one of Great Salt Lake’s breathtaking sunsets from the top of Buffalo Point. This is a half-mile hike with about 600 feet elevation gain. Dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. Park entrance fees apply. 801-721-9569

    January 26     Hyrum State Park – Hyrum

    Winterfest: Join us from noon to 4 p.m., for demonstrations and education stations about winter activities including snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowmobiling and ice fishing. 435-245-6266

    January 26     Snow Canyon State Park – Ivins

    Cinder Cone Hike: Hike to the top of the Snow Canyon cinder cone during this 1.5-mile, round trip hike beginning at 10 a.m. Space is limited and registration is required. 435-628-2255

    February 2     Antelope Island State Park – Syracuse

    Winter Photography: Join us at 3:30 p.m. in the visitor center to learn some simple ways to take better photographs of the island. Learn how to see the landscape and pick out that one-of-a-kind image. Prepare to spend time outside and dress for the weather. Bring a fully charged camera or have extra batteries.
