Montana Snowshoe Workshop for Women Set for Feb. 23

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks’ Becoming an Outdoors Woman program is sponsoring two snowshoe classes on February 23rd in Plains. Applicants can choose to attend the morning class from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm or the afternoon class from noon until 4:30 pm.

“If you can walk, you can snowshoe,” said Liz Lodman, FWP’s Becoming an Outdoors Woman coordinator.  “This class will provide an opportunity to use snowshoes while exploring the surrounding forest.”

Participants will practice “walking” in snowshoes and learn techniques for traveling up, down and across a hill.  A program about winter survival will be offered to both groups during the lunch time.

The class fee is $10 with lunch and snowshoes provided.  The registration form can be found at the FWP Web site or call Jacqi Peterson at 406-826-3047 or Liz Lodman at 406-444-9940 for more details.
