    Nebraska’s Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area to Take Reservations for Select Sites

    Merritt Reservoir State Recreation Area will begin taking reservations for select sites in the Cedar Bay, Beed’s Landing and Boardman campgrounds starting May 28.

    The reservable sites are:

    Cedar Bay (24 sites) – Electrical sites: A-Cedar, B-Cedar, D-Cedar, E-Cedar, G-Cedar, H-Cedar, L-Cedar, N-Cedar, P-Cedar, R-Cedar, S-Cedar, V-Cedar, W-Cedar and AA-Cedar. Nonelectric sites: 1-Cedar through 10-Cedar.

    Beed’s Landing (11 sites) – Electrical sites: K-Beeds through T-Beeds. Tent site: 11-Beeds.

    Boardman – 11 tent sites.

    All other camping at Merritt is on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations may be made up to a year in advance online at OutdoorNebraska.org or by calling the Nebraska Game and Parks Reservation Call Center at 402-471-1414. Reservations begin online and through the Call Center at 9 a.m. Central time May 28.

    Merritt is located 28 miles south of Valentine on Nebraska Highway 97. It is a popular destination for campers, boaters, anglers and hunters. Merritt offers modern camping with showers and electrical sites at Cedar Bay and Beed’s Landing, as well as tent camping, trailer dump station, boat access, fish cleaning stations and day use facilities. A park entry permit is required.
