    Video: Mountain Biking a Volcano

While Gran Canaria may have seen its last earthshaking eruption in the distant past, visitors should not make the mistake that the island is entirely mundane. A small but beautiful island situated off the northwest coast of Africa, Gran Canaria is the second most populated of the Canary Islands. The island is also notable for the Bandama Caldera, a 3,300-foot wide natural monument that remains as a testament to the Canary Islands’ fiery birth.

Can you think of a better place to bring a bike to?
