    Video: Lava Kayaking

Most people run from volcanoes, but these extreme kayakers decided instead to paddle into it.

Professional kayakers Pedro Oliva, Ben Stookesberry, and Chris Korbulic travel the world looking for the next thrilling kayaking adventure. While filming in Hawaii for their show, Kayak, the trio stumbled upon volcano Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes on Earth.

The kayakers decided to seize the opportunity to paddle alongside the flowing lava, getting within inches of the boiling hot spills. They also briefly abandoned their boats to climb on top of the most recently formed magmatic rock. Though this creates unbelievable footage, Oliva reminds viewers this is not safe for everyone to do. Besides the lava itself, the water is so hot that it could burn your skin.
