Coveted Entry to Challenge Roth Triathlon to be Auctioned on Ebay in Support of Physically Challenged Athletes

The Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF), a world leader in helping individuals with physical challenges get involved and stay involved in sports, announced today that they will auction an entry to the SOLD OUT Challenge Roth triathlon through an Ebay live auction. The DATEV Challenge Roth triathlon, produced by the Challenge Family and held in Roth, Germany, is one of the most revered full-distance triathlons in the world.

The auction will go live Monday, March 3 at 9:00 a.m. (PST) and close Friday, March 14 at 10:00 p.m. (PST). The funds raised from the auction will directly support CAF’s mission to fund adaptive sports equipment (like handcycles and prosthetic running legs), training and competition expenses and mentoring opportunities.

“We are very excited to partner with the Challenge Family to provide this opportunity to our supporters,” said Virginia Tinley, executive director of the Challenged Athletes Foundation. “The Challenge ROTH triathlon is truly a once-in-a-lifetime event and it is perfectly fitting in that providing these entries to an athlete, they in turn will provide life-changing support to athletes with physical disabilities.”

Each year professional triathletes and age group athletes from around the world travel to the historic town for a chance to race in what has become known as “the world’s biggest, fastest long-distance race” where many full-distance triathlon world records have been set by triathletes like Chrissie Wellington and Andreas Raelert.
